Founded in 2001, Machinegun Symphony is the Darkwave/Industrial project of vocalist/programmer Mark Sousa. Combining dance-floor electronics and emotionally evocative vocals with the edge of the electric guitar, the band have proven themselves to be a driving and driven force in the underground. Releasing their debut album in 2006, "The Technology of Tears" was produced by Rick Joyce of The Last Dance; the release earned the band both club and radio play across the United States, Europe and South America. Touring to support the release, Machinegun Symphony performed on both the East and West coasts of the United States in 2005/2006. The band's attention to detail in a concert environment combined with their commitment to a high standard in live production value has earned them not only a loyal cult following but also the reputation of being able to stand toe to toe with much larger performing acts. Now, in 2007, Machinegun Symphony is showing no signs of slowing down. The band's second full length release, entitled "Deus Ex Machina," is currently in production. Under the helm of producer Eric Kosnar (Darker Days Tomorrow) the album will feature a more aggressive sound as well as appearances by violinist Adrian Johnson. The disc is set to be released in the summer and with a tour of the UK and a coast to coast tour of the United States, Machinegun Symphony is gearing up for a breakthrough year and to take the world by storm.
